Cross-Country Skiing Centre Hall

Cross-country Skiing Centre in Hall

In the town of Hall – close to the youngest Austrian National Park – it’s all about cross-country skiing. But that doesn’t come as a surprise keeping in mind that there’s a whole cross-country skiing centre, complete with quality seal.

At the foot of the Haller Mauern Mountain, with amazing views of the Gesäuse Mountains, you can cross-country ski until you drop. The alpine scenery that you will be faced with as soon as you get out your car will already make your heart pound a little faster. And then it’s off to what the webcam’s already promised – a wintry landscape with perfectly groomed tracks.

Excellent!

The Cross-Country Skiing Centre is known for several things: it’s beautiful location in the sunny valley, perfect snow conditions and a total of 33.5 kilometres of tracks, which have been awarded the Styrian Quality Seal to ensure that high quality standards are being met at all times.

Crystal Clear

This close to the National Park, there simply needs to be a track bearing its name. The National Park Track starts at the stadium in Mühlau, offers something for skating and classic-style skiing alike and is homologated by the FIS. The level of difficulty is medium to high.

As you please

But of course, if you are looking for something less demanding there are also tracks with lower levels of difficulty in both Hall and Admont. Only one thing left to do: get out into the sparkling wintry landscape, get your body moving and lift your spirits!

Rohrauerhaus Lodge

Fancy a bit on the side? This lodge is actually located in Upper Austria not Styria, but it definitely forms part of the Gesäuse experience. Start your hike at Ardning Alm or in Hall. In winter you can also continue your ski tour on to Scheiblingsstein Peak. Another favourite is the via ferrata Wildfrauenklettersteig that ascends to Bosruck. The lodge also offers accommodations and of course hearty meals. Say hi to Upper Austria!

Salt Theme Trail

in the Town of Hall

One of the most fun places in the town of Hall is definitely the playground with the zip line, which is very popular with kids. At the same time it is the perfect starting point for the Salt Theme Trail, which is 4.5 kilometres long in total. By reading the charts along Essling Creek you can learn all about salt mining – what was a graduation tower again? Afterwards you can relax at the campfire. Apart from the theme trail you can also enjoy the creek in all its glory. Kids and grown ups alike are entertained!
